It all begins with an idea, then photos for reference and research of the historical era or figure. I select a frame to match the feel of the piece based on size and then start the line art. Images start with a pencil line art which is transferred to toned paper. Then the details are lovingly rendered using Prismacolor pencils and highlights in white acrylic.
